Ann Margot Edens, Esq.

My name is Ann Edens of Edens Law Group of which I am a founding partner.  We are located in Chester, New Jersey.  I have practiced in the field of family law since my graduation from law school.  As a result, I have been working in this field for 30 years. Likewise, the Edens Law Group’s practice is devoted to family law. For that reason we excel in child support, custody, asset division and alimony issues.  For many reasons, choosing Family Law was easy for me.  I enjoy working with people, not pushing paper.

Furthermore, I also enjoy that Family Law creates solutions for individual families.   As a consequence, I get to be closer to my clients and the real world results of my cases. In fact, I don’t give “free consultations”.  Instead, I give “Free 1 Hour Strategy Sessions” where together we look at the specifics of your situation.  As a result, we can tailor a “road map” to help your family and your individual needs.

I am also privileged to be a volunteer and active participant in my local community.  Because of my position, I have come into contact with numerous organizations that do wonderful work for families.  The Superior Court of Sussex County has appointed me as a Parenting Coordinator.  I serve as a volunteer Court Appointed Mediator for the Pilot Economic Mediation Program  for the Superior Court of Morris County.  I have been appointed to the Blue Ribbon Panel of the Morris County Early Settlement Program.

Additionally, I volunteer my time at the Women’s Centers in both in Hackettstown, New Jersey and at the County College of Morris in Randolph, New Jersey. Being able to volunteer in these capacities is exponentially rewarding and enriches my experience as a Family Lawyer.

Outside of office confines, the firm has volunteered for the Non-Profit Grow-a-Row, helping to glean apples to donate to agencies that feed the hungry.  Most recently, we participated in the SPEAK 5K to raise awareness of Domestic Violence.

I also volunteer within the legal community. Most noteworthy, I was appointed to the  Ethics Committee, which investigates alleged ethical violations by local attorneys.   I also was a member of the Ethics Fee Arbitration Committee, of which I am a past chair.

The Edens Law Group also does adoptions, which are near and dear to my heart.  I myself was adopted and went through the adoption process with my two beautiful children. Whether you are looking to adopt in this country or  through foster care or internationally we can help.  As a single parent, a heterosexual couple or a same-sex couple looking to adopt I am excited to work with you every step along the way. I am also designated as one of the adoption attorneys recommended by the well-known Spence-Chapin Adoption Agency in New York City.
