Ann Margot Edens, Esq.

ANN M. EDENS

I am a founding partner in the law firm of Edens Law Group, LLC located at Chester Commons, 310 Route 24, Suite A4, Chester, New Jersey. I have practiced family law, exclusively for almost 30 years. The law firm’s practice is devoted exclusively to family law. Choosing Family Law was easy for me for several reasons. I enjoy working with people, not pushing paper. I also enjoy the aspect of Family Law that creates solutions for individual families. In fact, rather than giving “free consultations” I give “free strategy sessions” where together we look at the specifics of you and what I can do to help your family and your individual needs. I find this approach must more effective than a recitation of marital law guaranteed to bore you to tears.

I have practiced in the field of matrimonial law since my graduation from law school. I also enjoy my many volunteer activities. I was appointed to the New Jersey State Bar Association Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee, as well as the District X Ethics Committee, and the District X Ethics Fee Arbitration Committee of which I am a past chair. I have been appointed by the Superior Court, Sussex County, as a Parenting Coordinator. I also volunteer my time at the Women’s Center at Centenary College in Hackettstown, New Jersey and the Women’s Center at County College of Morris in Randolph, New Jersey. I serve as a volunteer Court Appointed Mediator for the Pilot Economic Mediation Program for the Superior Court, Morris County, and for the Morris County Early Settlement Program. Being able to volunteer in these capacities enriches my experience as a Family Lawyer.

The firm also does adoptions, which are near and dear to my heart, as I myself am on two sides of the adoption triangle. Whether you are looking to adopt domestically, through foster care or internationally; as a single, a heterosexual couple or a same-sex couple I am excited to help you with every step along the way. I am also designated as one of the adoption attorneys recommended by the prestigious Spence-Chapin Adoption Agency in New York City.
